What to Expect

Here at Repose, we have registered Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) working to build relationships and improve communication through assessment and treatment of clients with a variety of speech and language concerns. From tiny tots to teens to adults, we aim to offer diverse services to the members of our community who need support the most.

We take great pride in offering fun and interactive sessions that focus on client goals in a strengths-based approach to assessment and therapy. Our SLPs are trauma-informed and use neurodivergent-affirming practices. We strive to provide family-centered, relationship-first practices where everyone’s voice is important and heard.

Book a Session

Case History

We complete an interview to discuss with the caregiver/adult any concerns, goals, strengths, and difficulties. This interview will help create a client profile for our clinicians to expectations and create mutual trust and understanding. Questionnaires may be emailed to clients prior to the first meeting to begin collection of information.

Oral Mechanism Exam

The SLP may need to observe the condition of the individual’s tongue, teeth, tonsils, palate, jaw, and throat to assess how they relate to or affect sound production.

Testing

Formal (standardized protocols) and informal assessments may be conducted to collect information on the client’s current abilities and identify a treatment plan. For children, assessments are play-based and a video recording may be required for further analysis (with written consent).

Discussion of Treatment Options

The SLP may need to review and score testing results before a diagnosis can be made, but will provide preliminary feedback on the session and discuss treatment options and potential goals. A summary will be provided and a comprehensive written report can be available for an additional fee.

Assessment and Treatment

We offer formal and informal assessments as well as treatment for toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, teens, and adults in: - Speech sounds (Articulation/Phonology) - Apraxia (Motor Speech) - Language (Expressive and Receptive Language) - Literacy - Social Communication - Voice Disorders - Fluency (Stuttering) - Accent Modification - Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) - We offer individualized therapy, caregiver and baby groups (more to come soon), and virtual therapy.
