What I Can Help With
Maggie enjoys working with children, teens, and adults. Her sessions are informed by her training in a number of different therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, amongst others. Maggie is particularly drawn to working in the areas of grief and loss, trauma, emotion regulation, and self-compassion. With children, Maggie enjoys incorporating creative play, and uses a sand tray, arts and crafts, and games to support young clients in their growth.
My Approach
Maggie prioritizes building a therapeutic relationship with clients grounded in warmth, respect, collaboration, and empathy. Maggie’s counselling approach is rooted in the belief that understanding our experiences, our story, and ourselves can be a transformative journey towards greater self-acceptance and hope for the future. She recognizes that our challenges are often a reflection of what we have been through in the past, shaping our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. As we gain perspective and compassion for ourselves, we are empowered to develop healthier coping strategies, heal from past wounds, and embark on a path towards personal growth and fulfillment. Above all, Maggie priorities creating a space for clients where they feel safe, at ease, connected, and free to explore the concerns that are more important to them.
