Curtis has worked primarily alongside adults, teens, and relationships and has completed post graduate training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, The Developmental Model, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and hormone care planning. Curtis has lived experience within the 2SLGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities, which he integrates into his practice. Whether our counselling goals involve finding practical coping mechanisms, exploring our internal and relational weather, or seeking safety from external pressures, Curtis prioritizes a queer and neuro-affirming, empathic, non-judgemental approach.
My Approach
In his working alliances, Curtis values connection and authenticity. He believes a validating, safe space is crucial for exploring ourselves and our relationships. Taking an emotionally focused approach, Curtis understands that the health of our relationships is an indicator of our personal well-being. He is passionate about deepening clients’ emotional understanding and building healthy relational communication skills to support emotional fulfillment.
About Me
Curtis is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), Canadian Certified Counsellor, and Naturopath with a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In his spare time, Curtis enjoys socializing with family and friends, listening to a new audiobook, playing board games, and snuggling with his cat, Touton! He also spends time between his Newfoundland home and Ontario, where he visits his long-term partner and son. The fee for a 50-minute individual therapy session is $150 and relationship/couples therapy session with Curtis is $170. Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursements/tax purposes. Your session may be covered by insurance under clinical counselling and/or naturopath provider categories.
