What I Can Help With
Art therapy does not require any previous art experience; the practice is not about creating skillful art, but is instead about utilizing creative expression to foster growth and transformation. Courtney has experience using the modality to aid in healing and change for individuals struggling with anxiety, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, and to reconnect the body and mind after experiences of trauma.
My Approach
Courtney’s practice emphasizes a trauma-informed, holistic, and client-centered approach to treatment that aims to harness the power of creative and expressive arts in facilitating self-discovery, insight, and emotional wellbeing. Courtney’s goal as an art therapist is to provide a safe and collaborative space where individuals can feel supported in navigating their thoughts and experiences creatively. She has worked with youth, families, and older adults in a variety of settings including in treatment centers, public health, and in the area of youth protection.
