Claire is passionate about her work with OCD and in supporting youth and adults who are struggling with anxiety disorders, emotional regulation, and eating disorders.
My Approach
During her master’s program, Claire did her practicum at Sunnybrook Hospital’s Frederick W Thompson Anxiety Disorders Centre intensive OCD program, the only inpatient OCD program in Canada. Through this, Claire was trained in and worked from a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) – Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) model. Claire also uses Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Narrative Therapy in her practice. She is a strengths-based social worker who works from a trauma informed approach creating a warm and welcoming space for everyone.
About Me
Claire is a registered clinical social worker with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers. She holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland and a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. She has five years of social work experience working with youth and adults in community settings. Claire is accepting youth and adult clients with evening availability in-person and virtually. The fee for a 50-minute session is $140. Receipts are provided for reimbursement/tax purposes. Your session can be covered by insurance under the registered social worker category.
