Brad has experience supporting people who have generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and depression. He has experience working with substance use, harm, and the impact that it has on people's everyday lives. Further, Brad has an extensive background in the world of sports, especially hockey, and is passionate about working with athletes, and coaches, to help maximize their preparation, performance, and mental health in sport. He thrives on helping people find the positive in their everyday life, while being a consistent support.
My Approach
With Brad, collaboration is of great importance! He takes a pragmatic approach to adapting therapy, while creating and fostering an environment of care and collaboration, to ensure that the client's needs are being met. He takes an eclectic approach drawing from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
About Me
Brad is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. He has recently returned back to St. John's, after coaching hockey for the last four years in Quebec. He has experience working alongside adults, teens, and groups in various roles both inside and outside of sports. Brad is an empathetic, kind therapist who focuses on establishing and maintaining a strong therapeutic relationship, while exploring practical solutions to both everyday problems and complex issues. Brad works with youth and adults, and is currently accepting new referrals. He offers sessions both in-person and virtually. The fee for a 50-minute session with Brad is $140, or if you would like to talk with Brad to get to know him, there is an option for a complimentary 15-minute consultation. Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursements/tax purposes. Your session may be covered by insurance under clinical counselling or naturopath.
