What I Can Help With
Becky has extensive experience supporting people who drink, use substances, and/or are harmed by their substance use. She takes a harm-reduction approach to helping people live their lives more safely with substances and increasing their whole-person wellness. She also specializes in working with young people on their mental health, including working with neurodivergent youth and children. Becky has completed The Gottman Method training for couples and marriage therapy. She enjoys working with all couples and helping people navigate healthier relationships — including queer and 2SLGBTQIA+ relationships. She also has years of experience supporting people that have experienced trauma, as well as gender-based violence (including family violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, etc.). The fee for a 50-minute session with Becky is $150. Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursements/tax purposes. Your session may be covered by insurance under clinical counselling and/or naturopath provider categories.
My Approach
Becky is a warm, down-to-earth therapist who focuses on practical solutions to both everyday problems and complex issues. She believes that people have the solutions, but can often use a little help getting there. Becky is a solution-focused practitioner, integrating narrative, feminist, and motivational interviewing lenses. She takes a pragmatic approach to adapting therapy for the person sitting in the chair, and what works best for them. She also offers some creative approaches to counseling, such as Walk-and-Talk therapy, for those who benefit from something a little less traditional.
About Me
Becky is a Canadian Certified Counsellor with a master's degree in Counselling Psychology from Memorial University of Newfoundland. She has worked alongside adults, children, and teens for over a decade in various community and private-sector supportive roles.
