Teresita brings over eighteen years of experience supporting children, families, and adults across community counselling, educational, and health-care settings. She takes both pleasure and pride in building meaningful connections with the individuals and families she serves, creating a foundation for trust as they navigate personal challenges. Teresita specializes in helping clients address concerns related to anxiety, challenging behaviors, emotional regulation, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and parenting support. She is committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental, and supportive environment where clients can openly explore stressors, life transitions, and areas of growth. With a warm, collaborative, and strengths-based approach, Teresita empowers clients to develop new skills, deepen self-awareness, and build resilience as they move through life’s complexities.

Teresita takes an integrated therapeutic approach, drawing from Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)–informed strategies, Mindfulness practices, as well as Art and Narrative Therapy. When working with children, Teresita embraces a play-based model, recognizing that play is the natural modality through which children learn, express themselves, and process their feelings. She is committed to creating an environment that feels safe, comfortable, and engaging, allowing children to explore their emotions and work through personal challenges at a pace that feels right for them.

Teresita is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Primary/Elementary Education, both from Memorial University. She is a member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. The fee for a 50-minute session with Teresita is $150. Receipts are provided for insurance reimbursement and tax purposes, and your session may be eligible for coverage under the clinical counselling category.
