What I Can Help With
Marlena has a special interest in working closely with language delayed preschool children (Late Talkers) and their families, supporting them to make meaningful connections, improve communication, and generalize these skills through fun, play-based interactions. She also has experience in assessing and treating children and adults with social communication differences (ASD), articulation (speech sound) disorders, fluency (stuttering), and voice concerns. Marlena offers individualized assessment and treatment as well as baby-caregiver play groups.
My Approach
Marlena uses a strength-based and neurodiversity affirming approach that focuses on improving interactions and communication using a child's current skills and interests. Building a trusting rapport is her top priority when working with young children and their caregivers.
