Jumi Odumosu is a Counselling Psychology intern at Repose Wellness Collective under the supervision of Becky Fleming. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology program at Yorkville University. She offers a supportive and collaborative space for individuals experiencing emotional concerns, or life transitions, with a focus on exploring concerns, clarifying goals, and building awareness of emotional and behavioural patterns. Jumi is able to offer affordable counselling rates as she completes this final step in her counsellor training. Many insurance companies will cover her services. Jumi’s approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and solution-focused. She believes counselling works best when it moves at your own pace and is guided by what matters most to you, within a relationship built on trust and collaboration. Jumi has completed training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy and incorporates this approach in her work with couples. In addition, she holds a certificate in Biblical Counselling and can integrate faith into her work when this aligns with an individual’s personal values.

Jumi brings a background in Human Resources as she transitions into the mental health field. Her experience in Human Resources has shaped her person-focused approach grounded in listening, understanding context, and attending to the human experience. Having lived in Nigeria, the United States, New Zealand, and now Canada, she brings a strong awareness of how context, culture, and transition shape identity, belonging, and adjustment, and strives to offer a counselling environment that is respectful and responsive to each client’s personal and cultural context. In her personal time, Jumi enjoys writing, reading memoirs, and travelling, interests that reflect her curiosity about people’s stories and lived experiences.
